It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amelia Menchaca Hodges. She was born January 18, 1937, and passed on May 17, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 88.
Amelia is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Aurora Menchaca; her husband, Sidney R. Hodges; son, John Sidney Hodges; and brother, Alberto Menchaca.
She is survived by her daughter, Maricela Urbina (Jesus); granddaughter, Alexis Geigenmiller; grandson, Jacob Urbina; sisters, Ninfa M. Hughes, and Elisa Menchaca; cousin, Arnold Menchaca (Hilda); and numerous nephews and one niece.
A Visitation will be held in her honor on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm in the funeral chapel at Primrose Funeral Services of Lytle, Texas. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Andrew's Catholic Church of Lytle, Texas. Interment will follow in Lytle Community Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Primrose Funeral Services of Lytle, Texas.
