Corey Heath Walters, born on February 13, 1972, left this world on January 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, love, and loyalty. He was a cherished husband to Chelsea Walters and a loving son to his mother, Roberta Walters and father Roy Walters. He had an amazing Army of people behind him including his children, Savannah Walters, Hailey Walters, Brooke Walters, Bridger Walters, and his grandchildren and grand cats River Odlozelik, Carrot, and Rock.
Corey was a true son of Devine, Texas, where he spent most of his life. He was educated at Lytle High School. He was a member of the Baseball team, Track team, and Football team. His Graduation from Lytle High School is where he laid the foundation for his successful future. After graduation, Corey pursued his passion for trade by enrolling in a four-year trade school program, honing his skills and shaping his path ahead.
Throughout his career, Corey dedicated himself to the union, working tirelessly to support his fellow workers. His dedication and commitment were an inspiration to those around him, and he made a lasting impact through his diligent service.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Corey had a genuine love for nature and the outdoors. He had a special talent for fishing, spending countless hours by the serene waters, finding solace and joy in the simple act of casting a line. Corey was also an avid arrowhead collector, finding beauty and connection to the past through his unique discoveries.
Corey's compassionate nature was evident in all aspects of his life. His infectious sense of humor brought countless smiles to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His heart was filled with empathy, and he always found a way to offer a helping hand to those in need. Corey's love and loyalty to his family and friends knew no bounds, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Corey's life will be held at St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Devine on January 25, 2024, at 10:00 am. Prior to the service, a family viewing will take place on January 24, 2024, at 5:00 pm, where loved ones can gather and share cherished memories.
In this time of sorrow, let us come together as a community, supporting one another and remembering the incredible impact Corey had on our lives. His memory will forever remain alive in our hearts, and his compassionate spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
