Don Ervin Dalros, age 95, of Atascosa, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born on January 15, 1931, and lived a life defined by service, strength, faith, and deep commitment to family and country.

Don proudly served in the United States military for over two decades. He began his service in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1950 and continued his distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1970. During his time in uniform, he served through both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. His work as an Air Police Small Arms Armor Repair Technician reflected his precision, discipline, and dedication.

Beyond his military service, Don valued knowledge and personal growth. He earned four associate degrees in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Real Estate, and Texas Law, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning and self-improvement.

Don also made a lasting impact on his local community. He played a role in building the Atascosa Rural Water Supply system, dedicating over 25 years of service to the community of Atascosa. His contributions helped support growth and sustainability for generations to come.

Don was a man who embraced adventure and believed in going after life fully. At heart, Don was a cowboy, through and through. He loved fishing, farming, ranching, horses, and traveling the world. Nothing, aside from his family, brought him more satisfaction than his land and his cattle. They were his life's work and something he took great pride in. He worked tirelessly for what he built, and in his later years, enjoyed simply sitting, looking out, and admiring the land he had poured his blood, sweat, and tears into.

Don was also a man of deep faith. He was a born again Christian, washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. He spent countless hours sitting on his back porch praying for his family, trusting God and placing those he loved in His hands.

Above all, Don was devoted to his family. He loved and supported them with everything he had.

He is survived by his five children: Steven Dalros and his wife Gosia of Poland, Howard Dalros and his wife Francine of Atascosa, Texas, Daniel Dalros and his wife Laura of Bullard, Texas, Leigh Dalros of Atascosa, Texas, and James Dalros and his wife Christy of Atascosa, Texas. His legacy continues through his 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Don Ervin Dalros will be remembered for his strength, his work ethic, his adventurous spirit, his unwavering faith, and the deep love he had for his family and the life he built. Today, he rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior, at peace in the arms of God
