Eduardo Gutierrez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eduardo Gutierrez, a cherished father, devoted son, and respected member of his community. Eduardo was born on October 13, 1932, in Zapata, Texas, and departed from this world peacefully at the age of 93 on May 7, 2026.

Eduardo's legacy is one of hard work, resilience, and dedication. A lifelong farmer and successful business owner, he embodied the values of perseverance and determination, instilling these virtues in those around him. 

Eduardo is preceded in death by his parents, Lucio and Nicolasa Gutierrez, his beloved wife, Maria Hilda Gutierrez; son, Javier Gutierrez; grandson, Eloy Gutierrez; brothers, Armando Gutierrez, and Tomas Gutierrez; and his sister, Elodia Cantu.He is survived by his loving daughters, Leticia Flores (Robert Anthony Flores, Sr.), Grace Cunningham (Leo Cunningham, Sr.), Elizabeth Gutierrez, Martha Gutierrez (Sergio Castro); and sons, Jorge Gutierrez (Ramona Gutierrez), and Jaime Gutierrez (Yolanda Gutierrez), who were a source of great joy and pride for him. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends that will miss his presence greatly. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Primrose Funeral Services Funeral Chapel in Lytle, Texas, which will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026. A Viewing will be held from 10:30am to 12:00pm, with a Funeral Service and Rosary to follow from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. 

Those who knew and loved Eduardo are encouraged to join us as we come together to share memories, stories, and the profound impact he has left on all our lives. In this moment of grief, we express our sincerest gratitude to all who have been part of Eduardo's journey. 

May he rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of his family and the memories of a well-lived life.
