Elio R. Galindo

Elio Ruel Galindo born October 31, 1949 and passed away March 22, 2020 at the age of 70. He was a husband, father, brother, friend but most important title to him was grandpa or as he was called “Bampa”.

Elio is preceded in death by his parents Salome and Julia Galindo.

Mr. Galindo is survived by his wife Ida Rodriguez Galindo of 46 years. Son Raul, wife Veronica Galindo, daughter Kriszelda Galindo, husband Carlos Maldonado; brother, Arnold Galindo; sister, Consuelo, husband Lionel Arriazola and his pride and joy his grandchildren Ricky Galindo, Carlos Anthony Maldonado, Christen Edward Maldonado, Kierstynn Lilly Maldonado, Janae Galindo; great grandchildren, Daleizzy Rodriguez, Kenia Maldonado, Gianna Maldonado, Elisa Maldonado, Logan Slade Mosley and his unborn great granddaughter Saige Rayne Galindo.

Elio Ruel Galindo was drafted into the US Army August 5, 1969, He fought for his country and served in the Vietnam war. Elio was honorably discharged August 2, 1971.  He received National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal.  He was M16, M14 expert.  On July 7,1973 Elio Married Ida Rodriguez and started their family Elio was always known for being a businessman.  He was always looking for ways to make money for his family and spoil his grandbabies from running the Ice box, R & K Burger Box, raising goats, pigs, chickens and nothing he couldn’t fix with a little bit of wire. Pallbearers are Raul Galindo, Kriszelda Galindo, Ricky Galindo, Christen Maldonado Janae Galindo, Kierstynn Maldonado, Carlos Anthony Maldonado and Benny Galindo.

Due to COVID-19 services will be a little different.  Rosary will be Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 7 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home allowing 10 at a time to enter.  Graveside Services will be Friday, March 27, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Dilley Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 only 10-people allowed under tent. Other mourners remain in vehicles until end of service. This is due to state mandated laws.
