Enrique Cantu Gandara Jr., age 64, of Pearsall, Texas, entered into eternal rest on October 20, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 14, 1961, in Pearsall, Texas, to Enrique A. Gandara Sr. and Teresa Cantu Gandara.
Enrique dedicated over 40 years of his life as a truck driver, spending countless miles on the road providing for his family and building lifelong friendships along the way. Though his career kept him traveling, his heart was always with the people he loved most. He was a hardworking man who rarely sat still and always found a project, task, or job to keep his hands busy. His strong work ethic was admired by all who knew him.
A faithful member of the Catholic Church, Enrique lived his life guided by his devotion to God. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and participated in the De Colores community. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. He found strength, comfort, and purpose through his faith and shared those values with his family through his words and example.
Beyond his work and faith, Enrique enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. Whether watching a game, spending time with family, or lending a helping hand to someone in need, Enrique brought dedication and passion to everything he did. He also cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Chela, who was not only his faithful companion but often his riding partner on the road, sharing countless miles, adventures, and quiet moments by his side.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 26 years, Analilia Gandara; his son, Enrique M. Gandara III; his daughters, LeeAnn Davila and husband Erick, and Gabrielle Gandara and husband Raymond; his brother, Richard Gandara and wife Rachel; his sisters, Grace Martin and husband John, Cynthia Cisneros and Felipe DeLeon, Elizabeth Gonzalez, and Estella Marquez and husband Chris.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Gabriela, Elisa, Dristen, Isabela, Erick, and Aiden, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Enrique leaves behind countless nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched by his guidance, humor, and love.
Enrique was preceded in death by his father, Enrique A. Gandara Sr., and his mother, Teresa Cantu Gandara.
Enrique's legacy is one of faith, hard work, love, and devotion to family. He leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured by those who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he has gone home to be with the Lord he faithfully served.
