He had many hobbies including baseball, golf, and Conjunto - "Los Cabelleros de Texas de Felix Escalante". Felix was also a dedicated member of Lytle Methodist Church and was a church lay leader for 10 years, and junior high and adult Sunday School teacher for 19. He had many accomplishments to be proud of in his lifetime. He was a US Air Force Veteran, and made his living selling school library books, but his greatest accomplishment was his family. Felix was a lover of baseball, and pitched a no hitter in 1960 in New Braunfels, Texas, and at the age of 12, hit a grand slam in 1951. His most treasured times were spent during the Escalante-Campos family reunions held on their property, laughing and making memories. He also adored time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Felix is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Fortunata Escalante; sister, Antonia Escalante, and brothers, Emilio Campos, Felipe Escalante, Angel Escalante, and Reyes Escalante.
He is survived by his wife of 32 wonderful years, Becky; daughter, Laura Olaez (Robert), and Laura's mother, Mary Escalante; sisters, Josie Patino, Vicenta Morgan (Wayne), and Teresa Gomez (Ramiro), grandchildren, Shelby Dickinson (DJ), and JB Martinez (Sophia); great grandchildren, Levi Dickinson and Olivia Martinez, and many loving nieces and nephews. His beloved church members, and a very special thank you to Tony Escalante and Zachary Davis for all the laughs you brought to Felix.
