George William "Bill" Franks

George William "Bill" Franks, 78, of Pearsall, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2025, in San Antonio. Born on October 29, 1946, in Pearsall, Bill lived a full and meaningful life defined by family, career, and passion for community. 

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Beverly, his sons Derek (Beth) and Alex (Angela), and his beloved grandchildren Julian, Asher, Charlie, and Sydney. He built a distinguished career in information technology, serving as Chief Information Officer at Neiman Marcus and later at Saks Inc.

 Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill was best known for his lifelong love of Corvettes. He bought his first Corvette in 1969, just two weeks after marrying Beverly, and over the years owned many-including several Z06s-but his pride and joy was his classic silver 1963 split-window Corvette. An avid member of the Mississippi Corvette Club, Bill cherished the friendships and experiences it brought. One of his fondest adventures was shipping his Corvette to Europe, where he and Beverly spent several weeks touring France and Belgium behind the wheel of their car. 

Over the years, Bill also found joy in community service, especially when he played Santa Claus for children in local hospitals, bringing warmth and comfort during the holiday season. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall, Texas. Interment will follow at the Pearsall Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill's memory to the American Heart Association.
