Guadalupe Gutierrez, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Guadalupe Gutierrez Jr., a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this life on June 2, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 14, 1941, in Pearsall, Texas, he was a cherished son of this community, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Guadalupe, a proud Barber, he devoted his talents and time to his profession, where his skillful hands not only crafted hairstyles but also nurtured countless friendships within his beloved Pearsall. His gentle spirit and caring nature inspired many, as he always extended a helping hand to those in need.

A man of profound faith and devotion, Guadalupe was deeply committed to his church community. His love for God resonated through his soulful singing in the choir and active participation in the De Colores Cursillos where he sought to uplift and inspire through his melodies. His faith was a guiding light in his life and in the lives of those fortunate enough to call him family.

Guadalupe cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was fishing away a sunny afternoon or gathering with family for shared laughter and love. A steadfast companion to his beloved wife of sixty-six years, Josefa Gutierrez, shared a bond that was the very fabric of a deep and enduring love story. He is also survived by his children Deborah Capestany (Phillip), Guadalupe Gutierrez, III (Norma), Janice Deleon (Guadalupe); grandchildren Lisa Gonzalez, Angela Golobish (Brandon), Jayr Gutierrez (Laura), Kevin Gutierrez, Kristina Deleon; great-grandchildren Edrin Molina, Alivia Gutierrez, Alina Gutierrez, Natasha Gutierrez, Delmalynn Gutierrez; brother Benito Gutierrez.

He is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe Gutierrez, Sr. and Maria Gutierrez.

He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories woven through his relationships with family and friends. His legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts and lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever carry forth his values of compassion, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate his life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Primrose Funeral Services of Pearsall. Mass will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with interment to follow in Pearsall Cemetery. His family welcomes all who wish to gather in remembrance of this remarkable man, to honor his life, and to share in the love that he so generously gave.

As we bid farewell to Guadalupe, let us remember him not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the time we shared. May his spirit continue to inspire us as we hold him close in our hearts, forever cherishing the beautiful legacy of love he leaves behind.
