Jaime S. Garza

September 22, 1941 — February 6, 2024

Pearsall

Jaime Seniseros Garza, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and companion passed away in his hometown of Pearsall on February 6th, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on September 22, 1941, in Dilley, Texas to Jose and Refugia Garza affectionately known as “Papa Jose y Mama Cuca”.

Jaime is preceded in death by his wife Maria Luz Garza “Luche”, son James Z. Garza Jr. “Jaimito”, parents, brothers Joel S. and Jose S. Garza, and great-granddaughter Arya Shay McCue.

Being raised on the Keystone Ranch (Mr. William Henry Skinner), Jaime learned the value of hard work, dedication, and determination while working alongside his father they helped farm and raise cattle. His knowledge and experience led to an opportunity to become the Ranch Foreman for T.C. (Nick) Morrow where he managed over 13,000 acres and oversaw the farming and ranching operations. He and Mr. Morrow developed a special bond and friendship. After Mr. Morrow passed Jaime ventured out on his own as a successful cattle rancher.

Like his brothers, Jaime was blessed with the gift of music. He played the Bajosexto alongside his brothers Los Hermanos Garza, and other conjunto bands such as Santiago Jimenez, Los Hermanos Ramos, and Roberto Trevino.

Upon the passing of his beautiful wife Luche, Jaime became devoted to his children, grandchildren, family, and companion Grace. His many loves and passions were watching wrestling, collecting trucker caps, making the daily rounds at Mumme’s and Ace Hardware, and having coffee with his friends and family. He was an animated storyteller, a talented musician who loved music and could always be heard singing and whistling. Jaime loved good food and taking drives. Jaime enjoyed funny TikTok videos and would crack up laughing. He was the life of the party and shared inside jokes with family and friends.

He was an extremely hard worker and one of his joys was tending to his cattle and sitting under his favorite mesquite tree watching them graze. He took great pride in passing down family traditions and teaching his grandchildren his many passions like playing the guitar, ranching, farming, driving a tractor, hunting, and fishing down at the coast.

He had a big heart and shared a special bond with his siblings. He would make his daily visits, just to stop by and chat and make sure everyone was doing well. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed teasing them. So many who knew him probably shared their own funny story and memories, playful nature, and antics.

Jaime was one of a kind and left a lasting impression with all that he met. He had many friends and will be remembered for his craziness, joking nature, and the nicknames he had for many. He truly was a character. He had tremendous strength and a fighting spirit, Jaime was blessed and went home to heaven surrounded by his greatest love, his family. Jaime will truly be missed by all, especially his family but he leaves behind his legacy of love of family and loyalty.

He is survived by his companion Grace ”Chapara” De La Cruz, daughters Martha “Cuera” (Henry) Pichardo, Enedina “Flaca” (Orlando) Cuevas, son Daniel “Pocho” (Thelma) Garza and his grandchildren Valerie (Jake) McCue, Jade Lauren Cuevas, Christopher Henry Pichardo, Nicole Elizabeth Pichardo, Robert Ramon III, Daniel Garza Jr., James Cruz Garza, and Joaquin Omar Garza, great grandchild Aubrey Maria McCue, brothers Noe S.
