Javier Barrera

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Javier Barrera, who left this world on August 1, 2026, at the tender age of 21. Born on July 5, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas, Javier was a vibrant soul who graced our lives with his joyful presence. He resided in Atascosa, Texas, where he was known for his warm smile and gentle demeanor.

Javier was a dedicated member of Our Lady Grace Catholic Church, where he actively participated in the choir. His love for music resonated through the hearts of many, and his passion for singing brought joy to each service. He was a devoted son to Emma and Hector Barrera.

Javier was more than just a member of our community; he was a beacon of kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a smile. His polite and cheerful nature made him a pleasure to be around, and his family and friends will forever remember the happiness he brought into their lives.

Javier is survived by; his devoted mother, Emma; and his supportive father, Hector. He also leaves behind his siblings, Hector III (Leslie), Erika, Kevin, and Catalina, and his grandmother, Florencia.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life of this remarkable young man. A visitation will be held on Thursday August 6, 2026 at 12:00pm to 7:00pm with a Rosary recited at 5:00pm at Primrose Funeral Services of Lytle, Texas. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lacoste, Texas. He will then be laid to rest in the serenity of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in Lacoste, Texas.
