Josefa S. Gutierrez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Josefa Gutierrez, a beloved Daughter, wife, mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, who left this world peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 14, 1943, Josefa spent her life nurturing others, both in her family and through her work as a beautician, where she served the community for over 30 years. Her talent and artistry brought joy and confidence to many, and her warm spirit touched the lives of everyone she met.

Josefa was a devout member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall, TX, where she forged deep connections with fellow parishioners. Her faith was a constant source of strength throughout her life, inspiring those around her to embrace kindness and love.

She is survived by her children Deborah Capestany (Phillip), Guadalupe Gutierrez, III (Norma), Janice Deleon (Guadalupe); brother Benito Samaniego Jr; Sister Michaela (Mickie) Elizondo; grandchildren Lisa Gonzalez, Angela Gonzalez (Brandon), Jayr Gutierrez (Laura), Kevin Gutierrez, Kristina Deleon; great-grandchildren Edrin Molina, Alivia Gutierrez, Alina Gutierrez, Natasha Gutierrez, Delmalynn Gutierrez.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of Sixty-Six years Guadalupe Gutierrez Jr.; As well as her parents Benito and Michaela Samaniego

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Josefa's remarkable life. A public viewing will be held at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall on October 8, 2025, at 5:00 PM to 9 P.M. With a rosary reciting at 7 P.M., providing an opportunity for all to pay their respects and share cherished memories. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall on October 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by her burial. We invite those who knew and loved Josefa to join us in honoring her legacy, reflecting on the beautiful moments she created, and rejoicing in a life well-lived.

Josefa Gutierrez will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
