Juan Alvarez Del Toro

Juan "Johnny" Alvarez Del Toro, Jr. of Natalia, Tx went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on July 28, 1941 in Rossville, Tx to Juan Francisco Gill Del Toro, Sr. and Andrea Ramos Alvarez.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Romelia Del Toro; brothers, Cipriano Del Toro and Abelardo Del Toro.

He is survived by his children Gilbert "Gibby" Del Toro, Rene Del Toro, Ida Fernandez, Stella Garcia and Mary Helen Bowman; and his one brother, Frank "Frankie" Del Toro. He will also be missed by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Juan was a loving and compassionate man who cared deeply for his family. He dedicated years of his life to music, earning the respect of his fellow musicians who considered him a legend in the industry. He played various instruments including the accordion, bass guitar, bajo sexto, guitar, violin, and vocals.

Services will be held in his honor on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 10am-12pm at Primrose Funeral Services located at 14822 Main St, Lytle, Tx 78052.
