L. John Milam was born January 9, 1934, and died on June 29, 2025. John was born and raised in Moore, Texas. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend.
John was a lifelong learner whose love for this land and his country was only matched by the care he gave to his (honey) bees, his military service, his family, and community. His heart touched everyone lucky enough to know him. He walked each day with dignity, honesty, and generosity. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and was an Aggie through and through, sharing Aggie values with his children and grandchildren, and embodying the Aggie spirit - integrity, loyalty, and deep respect for tradition.
John Milam is survived by his cherished wife Judy, daughter Michelle Thompson (Kelley), son Jeffrey John Milam (Laurel), daughter Annelle Hirsch (Doug), step-son Michael Crocker (Lisa), step-daughter Anne Rozelle, step-son Duke Badtke (Michele), 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his sister, Faye Milam Hall, and a wide circle of extended family members and business friends who will forever cherish his memory.
John was preceded in death by a sister, Rae Milam Coté, and parents, Loys and Noma Milam.
As we pay our respects, we remember John with gratitude for his love, his labor, and the quiet way he made this world a better place. Gig 'em and rest well until we meet again!
