Lyndon Nelson Heimer

July 15, 1939 — January 2, 2021

Lyndon Nelson Heimer was born on July 15, 1939 to Edgar and Erna Heimer at their family ranch in Blanco, Texas. He died on January 2, 2021 at the age of 81 in Cleburne, Texas. As a third generation Texan, Lyn grew up with German as the primary language among his family members during his childhood. He was proud of both his German ancestry as well as having been named after the U.S. Representative at the time, Lyndon B. Johnson, whom Edgar had known during his school days in the Texas Hill Country.

Lyn attended Blanco High School and graduated in 1957. Upon graduating from high school, Lyn enlisted in the Army Reserves and worked for the National Bank of Commerce in San Antonio. Through the years, he advanced within the bank to the position of Vice President and Trust Officer. His 43 years in banking included serving on the Dallas Federal Reserve Board and as a member of the San Antonio Security Traders Association. Upon retirement, Lyn and his wife, Clara, moved back to the family ranch, a place where he loved hunting and working the land throughout his life. Although they moved away from Blanco in 2007, Lyn’s heart never left the land that was always a part of him, and he continued to love spending time outside and enjoying nature. Traveling and camping throughout the western United States was also a favorite pastime that Lyn shared with his family, making many wonderful memories along the way.

Lyn is preceded in death by his wife, Clara Heimer. He is survived by sons, Brad Heimer and his wife Shannon; Ronnie Klein and his wife Alice Kiang, and James Klein and his wife Mary; daughter, Teri Albrecht and her husband Gernot; nine grandchildren, Sydney Heimer, Carissa Heimer, Travis Heimer, Bryson Klein, Peyton Klein, Amie Carreon, Emilie Prisock, Karsten Albrecht, Torben Albrecht; and three great-grandchildren, Adrian Carreon, Noel Carreon, and Emmitt Prisock.

A graveside funeral service will be held in Devine, Texas on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Memorials may be given in Lyn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (
www.alz.org) or to the charity of your choice.
