Marga Ruth Espinoza

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marga Ruth Espinoza, who left us peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Devine, Texas. Born on March 23, 1955, in Erlangen, Germany, Marga Ruth Barthelmess filled the world with her warmth and kindness. In Erlangen, she met and married Victor before moving to the United States in 1989. She leaves behind a lasting imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A devoted wife, Ruth is survived by her beloved husband Victor of 36 years, who will carry her memory in his heart forever, and her children Miguel, David, Dino, and Karissa. Forever cherished and remembered by her six grandchildren, Naiomi, Joshua, Miguel Jr., Jayden, David Jr., and Emilia.

With a deep passion for horse riding and a commitment to training countless riders in the art of dressage, Ruth made an indelible mark on the equestrian community. Her skill and dedication were matched only by her genuine love for helping others grow, both in the saddle and in life. Whether she was offering expert guidance to aspiring equestrians or simply lending a listening ear, she had a rare ability to uplift everyone around her. Ruth’s love for her community and her unwavering devotion to building meaningful relationships made her a beloved figure, one whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

Marga Ruth Espinoza was cremated on November 19, 2025. Interment will occur privately at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 10:00am-11:00am in the funeral chapel at Primrose Funeral Services of Devine at 303 W. College Ave, Devine, Texas 78016. A reception will follow at 11:30am at Viva Zapata Mexican Restaurant at 501 E. Hondo Ave., Devine, Texas 78016.
