With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria del Carmen Maldonado, age 63, of La Pryor, Texas, who departed this life on February 26, 2026. Born on July 2, 1962, in Guerrero, Mexico, Maria was a devoted mother to her beloved children, and a cherished grandmother. Her warmth and boundless love for her family were evident in everything she did. She was an amazing cook, and found joy in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones, creating countless memories around the dinner table.
Maria's unwavering devotion to her family and her faith was evident in her relentless support and the sacrifices she made. She embodied strength, kindness, and compassion, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her.
Maria is preceded in death by her first husband, Pedro Duque Magadan, and her parents, Ernesto and Natalia Maldonado.
She is survived by her children, Esmeralda Duque (Felix Cardenas), Valdemar Perez (Blanca), Mariana Vasquez (Pedro), Miguel Angel Perez (Selene), Juan Carlos Perez (Guadalupe), and Alejandro Perez (Fernanda). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
In her honor, a public viewing will take place at Primrose Funeral Services in Lytle on March 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Rosary will follow at 10:00 AM, leading into a Mass at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Lytle at 11:00 AM. Maria will be laid to rest in Lytle Community Cemetery in Lytle, Texas.
Maria's spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed, but her love and memories will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those she touched.
