Mary Carolyn Morris Obituary
Mary Carolyn Morris, 90, of Pearsall, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Born in Levelland, Texas on May 24, 1935, with a bright spirit and a heart made for caring, Mary Carolyn devoted her life to her home, her faith, and the family she cherished above all else. Married to the love of her life, Lindley Patterson “Pat” Morris, she spent her years raising five children, working alongside her family on the ranch, and pouring her energy into her church community. She joyfully taught Sunday School and helped lead Vacation Bible School for many years, leaving a lasting mark on generations of children.
Carolyn was full of life—joyful, steady, and warm. She loved to read, to stay busy, share the harvest from her vegetable gardens and to be surrounded by the people she loved. She and Pat had many friends they loved to entertain and socialize with. Carolyn loved to hit the open road in the summers to go fishing in the Rocky Mountains and spend her summers with her children and Pat in Lake Vallecito, Colorado. She also loved to be in the sand and the sunshine at the beach. She was, without question, adventurous, and the best mom and grandmother her family could have hoped for.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pat Morris, her children, Kelly Morris and Tobin Morris, and by her siblings, Orville and Wanda Jean.
Carolyn is survived by her beloved brother Berkley Shofner. She is also survived by her children: Suzanne Brooks, her late husband Jimmy, and Suzanne’s children: Kelly Brooks and partner Mike Tatro and their son Blake Tatro; and Jamie Brooks. Biffle Morris and his son Jacob Morris and Jacob’s children, Tobin and Roxanne Morris. Sara Solansky, and her children Wesley and his son, Foster; Joshua and his son Blayde; and Lindley Burnett and husband Johnny, and their children Rian and Kate Burnett. Carolyn’s grandchild, Kaleb Morris, son of the late Tobin Morris.
Her family takes comfort in knowing many friends were touched by her kindness, and all should rejoice in the fact that she is now reunited with her late husband and children. Carolyn’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue through the generations she raised.
A memorial service for Mary will be held at Pearsall Methodist Church on December 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Monetary donations can be made to Pearsall Methodist Church, as well as flower arrangements.
