Minnie Cruz

Minnie Duncan Cruz, age 78, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 24, 2022.

She was born on November 26, 1943, to parents Benito and Dora (Winters) Duncan in Moore, Texas. Minnie had many accomplishments throughout her life. As a self-taught businesswoman, she owned and successfully ran an Assisted Living Facility for many years. Minnie was an incredible woman whose smile lit up a room and melted the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Among Minnie’s passions were watching Wheel of Fortune and her Kickapoo trips but her true passion was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Alex Cruz; her daughter Melissa and husband Manuel Rodriguez; her granddaughter Alexis and husband Kolton Mangold and great- granddaughter Emerson Rose Shavers; daughter-in-law Kelly Cruz, sisters: Angel Chapa and Irma Lee and brothers: Martin, Roy and Bennie Duncan and many other family members.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son Alex Patrick Cruz, her parents Benito and Dora (Winters) Duncan; brothers: Raymond, Otis and Eloy Duncan and sisters: Emma Riojas and Dora Ramirez and other beloved family members.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 31, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine, Texas. The Holy Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devine. Interment to follow at the Moore Catholic Cemetery, Moore, Texas.
