Phyllis Camilla Olson

Phyllis Camilla Olson, 85, residing in Kyle, Texas and longtime resident of Natalia, Texas entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 16, 2020.

Phyllis was born on August 4^th, 1934 in Cowpens, South Carolina to father James Bolton and mother Faye Swofford. As a little girl she picked flowers, chased bugs and watched Black- chinned hummingbirds with her sister Barbara. At an early age, she relocated to Texas where she happily served the Natalia school district as the head bus driver. She later followed her calling into the health care profession to graciously help those in need.

Phyllis is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Carol Jean McMillan (daughter) and spouse Howard McMillan, Richard Albert Heruth (son) and spouse Vernice Green Heruth, Victoria Hunter- Ward (daughter) and spouse John Ward, Terry Rene Rogers (son) and spouse Duanna Rogers, Michele Kelly Rogers (daughter), William Joseph Olson (son) and spouse Dawn Bennett Olson, Stephanie Olson – Hasseloff (daughter) and spouse Christopher Hasseloff; six grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.  She was extremely proud to share her time with her niece Sharon Clifford and her children along with nephew Sean Vrazel and spouse Amanda Vrazel. Phyllis. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence William Olson.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine, Texas on Friday, 3/20. Services will be performed at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 3/21 at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine, Texas.

The family would graciously like to thank the staff at Amedisys Hospice Care for their tireless support while caring for Phyllis. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
