With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Rodriguez, who left this world on August 24, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on June 14, 1957, Robert was a cherished son, devoted husband to Theresa Rodriguez, loving father, and incredible Grandfather. He was a resident of Atascosa, Texas, where he brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Robert was known for his sharp wit and charming personality. A true jokester at heart, he had an uncanny ability to light up any room with his humor. He loved spending time with his children, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Robert was also a passionate Star Trek fan, often spouting quotes from the series, reminding us all that adventure and exploration don't always need to remain in the stars.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Heriberto Rodriguez and Josefina Rodriguez.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Theresa, and his children, Nancy Gonzales, Jessica Rodriguez (Joe), Robert Rodriguez, and Michaela Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his siblings; Jose Rodriguez, Mary Rodriguez, and Delores Rodriguez. His ten beloved grandchildren, and one great-grandchild will also deeply miss his love and laughter that he brought into their lives.
A Public Viewing will be held in his honor at Primrose Funeral Services in Lytle, Texas on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lacoste, Texas. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in Lacoste.
As we say goodbye to Robert, let us remember him not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the moments we shared. His legacy of laughter and love will forever remain in our hearts. May he boldly go to where no man has gone before.
The family would like to express a very special thank you to the staff and fellow patients at Fresenius at Alamo Ranch for the kind, loving care, support, and friendship they provided to Robert over the past six years. Your compassion and kindness meant so much to Robert and his family and will always be remembered with heartfelt gratitude.
