Simona Morales Gilguero

Simona Morales Guilguero, a beloved matriarch and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, in Lytle, Texas, at the age of 86. Born on October 28, 1939, Simona dedicated her life to her family and her faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

For over 50 years, Simona cherished a loving partnership with her husband, Ernest, and together they created a home filled with warmth and compassion. Her devotion to family extended beyond the walls of her home, as she graciously opened her heart and arms to relatives, raising and housing those in need. Simona's nurturing spirit was evident in everything she did; her cooking, particularly her legendary tacos and rich hot chocolate, became her love language, as she spoke life and comfort into the hearts of her loved ones through every meal she prepared.

Simona was a woman of strength and conviction, a fierce advocate for those she cared for. Her unwavering belief in justice inspired all who encountered her passionate spirit. A devoted member of the Immaculada Concepcion Catholic Church of Coal Mine, Texas, Simona's faith was a cornerstone of her life and a guiding light for her community.

Preceded in death by her parents, Sisto and Simona Morales, Sr., her loving husband Ernesto Gilguero, brothers, Lucio Morales, Santos Morales, and sisters, Refugia Martinez, and Dolores Morales.Simona leaves behind sisters, Narcissa Maldonado, Guadalupe Martinez (Valdemar), brother Sisto Morales, Jr. (Olga), nieces, Veronica Villanueva (Florencio), Bianca Villanueva, nephew, Julian Martinez (Celeste), Ernesto Villanueva, and numerous other nephews, nieces, and family members that will miss her dearly. 

A public viewing will be held at Primrose Funeral Services in Lytle on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 5:00 to 9:00PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm. Mass will be celebrated in her honor at Immaculada Concepcion Church in Lytle, TX on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in a burial service at Immaculada Concepcion Cemetery in Lytle, TX providing a final farewell to a woman who gave of herself selflessly and unconditionally.
