Steve Sanchez

Listen to Obituary

Steve Sanchez, 55, of Round Rock, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He passed away peacefully at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Steve was born on October 26, 1970, in Pearsall, Texas to Augustin and Consuelo Sanchez. He was a 1989 graduate of Pearsall High School, and a 1991 graduate of the National Institute of Technology in San Antonio. In 2003, he married Sandy Juranek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas.

Steve was outspoken, opinionated, and stubborn. He was also kind, funny, loving, generous, and protective. His family meant more to him than anything, and there is nothing he would not have done for them, or for a friend (or even a stranger) in need. He loved to help others whenever and however he could. Steve loved to ride his bike and rode almost every day. He would often ride in charity events like Livestrong and PinkStong in honor of family or friends, or in memory of those that had passed. He also enjoyed going for bike rides with his daughter, Lorie, who shared his love for riding. Steve also loved to watch football and was a big Texas Longhorns and Houston Texans fan. He always enjoyed conversations with his dad where they would give each other a hard time about Steve’s Texans and his dad’s Cowboys. Steve’s favorite football team, however, was the Round Rock Dragons. He and Sandy loved more than anything going to all of the games and cheering on their son, Josh, and all of his friends on Friday nights. Steve’s presence in our lives will leave an immense void, and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Augustin “Sonny” Sanchez.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Juranek Sanchez of Round Rock; his children Valeri Llanos & husband Jon of Bastrop, Lorie Sanchez of Austin, and Joshua Sanchez of Round Rock; his mother, Consuelo Sanchez of Pearsall; his brother, Sammy Sanchez of Pearsall; his grandchildren Jason Valdez and Vanessa Llanos of Bastrop; his nephew Aaron Sanchez of San Antonio; his niece Samantha Sanchez of Broomfield, Colorado; and many other extended family members and friends.
