William Earl Davis known as "Pa", a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 15, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 16, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, William was a devoted family man whose warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Milton Davis and Mildred Virginia Welch Davis, as well as his brother, James Maurice Davis, and sister, Patricia Jo Heathcock.

William leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife of 62 years, Hazel Dove Davis "Ma", their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: son Donald Davis and his wife, Kristina Davis, their children Deanna and Dwayne. Daughter Linda Dossey and husband, Lenard Dossey, their children Lenard Roy Dossey 2 and wife, Tiffany Dossey, great-grandchildren Kahlan, Katherine, Lenard 3. Grandchild Crystal Williams and husband, Kenneth Williams, great-grandchildren Kylie and Conner. Grandchild Heather McConathy and husband, RT, great-grandchildren Trey, Brookelyn, Jackson, and Cooper. Grandchild Benjamin Dossey and wife, Caitlin, great-grandchildren Beatrix, Elim, Esme. Grandchild Melanie Calame and husband, Scott, great-grandchild Scotty. Cassandra Osborne and husband, Trent. Grandchild Christian Dossey. Daughter Gina Davis and Barbie.

William had a varied career, having worked at Southwest Research Center, then as an electrician, and finally retired from the post office. He was known for his ingenuity, spending countless hours creating and repairing things, including candy dispensers and bird feeders. His hobbies brought much joy to his life, from playing solitaire on the computer to enjoying parades on Cushman Scooters. He was member #25 of the Cushman Scooters Club. He proudly rode over the Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi, Texas. He enjoyed field trips with his grandchildren, feeding critters, and taking trail rides. A man of diverse interests, William was also an avid fan of NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and a lover of country music, particularly the soulful tunes of Willie Nelson.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78214.


William Earl Davis's legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all those he touched. His sweet nature, hearty laughter, and loving spirit will be profoundly missed but eternally cherished.
